Clear, careful chiropractic adjustments
Chiropractic adjustments are precise, hands-on movements of a joint, used to ease pain and stiffness for adults in Surry Hills with spine and joint complaints.
What is a chiropractic adjustment?
An adjustment, or spinal manipulation, is a quick, controlled movement applied to a joint. It may cause a pop, which is gas releasing in the joint fluid. Evidence supports it for some types of low back pain and it can ease neck stiffness for some people.
All our chiropractors are registered with AHPRA. Adjustments are only one tool, and we also use mobilisation, soft tissue work and exercise. You can say no to any technique at any time.
Who is it for?
- Existing patients continuing an agreed care plan
- Joint stiffness in the back, neck or ribs
- People who prefer hands-on care with exercise
- Anyone curious about low-force options instead of manipulation
What to expect
- 01
Check-in
We ask how you have been since your last visit and whether anything has changed in your health.
- 02
Reassessment
A quick check of movement and tender areas to guide today’s care and track progress.
- 03
Adjustment
We explain what we plan to do, get your consent, then apply the adjustment or a gentler alternative.
- 04
Review
We recheck movement, update your exercises and agree when, or whether, you need to come back.
After your adjustment
Mild soreness for a day or two is the most common after-effect. Stay active, drink water and keep up your exercises. Let us know at your next visit how you felt, so we can adjust the approach.
Common questions
Most people feel pressure and a quick movement rather than pain. Mild soreness afterwards is common and usually settles within a day or two.
